Arsenal FC has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1886. Orginally forming in Woolwich, South East London, the club took its name from famous military armaments nearby, the Royal Arsenal. Eventually relocating North of the river in 1913, the Gunners have brought regular success to Highbury ever since. One of London's best loved and most notorious teams, Arsenal has a history to be proud of. Fantastic players such as Ian Wright, Cliff Bastin have scored record numbers of goals for the club and under the guideance of legandary managers from Bertie Mee in the seventies right up to Arsene Wenger, the Gunners have remained on top. Winning the 'Double' of the league aqnd FA cups three times, Arsenal consistently live up to thier hard-earned reputation and having played the entire league season of 2003-2004 with no defeats, are truly deserving of their current moniker 'The Untouchables'. A Team of such heritage deserve a homeground to match, and a new, state of art Emirates Stadium at Ashburton Grove, London, is currently in development well nearly finished. Regenerating 60 acres of land in London's Islington area, the complex will also provide 2000 new homes and approximately 800 new jobs. Arsenal's Future as British footballing heroes is undouted
